André works in a photocopying store by day, and goes home each night to draw comic books. His cartoon fantasies inspire in him dreams of being rich and falling in love with a beautiful woman. The real life object of his affections is really a sales clerk who lives opposite his apartment. But when André sees something terrible happen to her, he must act and turn his fantasies into reality. What once seemed like an innocent fascination turns into a more complex and twisting plot for these two people. As a result the film combines a light and fun quality with an edginess that captures Porto Allegre in Southern Brazil.
